My Approach to Helping
If you are feeling overwhelmed by sadness, anger, guilt, shock, disbelief, or loneliness after a loss know that healing is possible. Grief comes in waves and at times you can feel flooded by intense emotions. You may find yourself feeling numb or crying spontaneously with no apparent reason or maybe you feel stuck in your grief. If you feel that talking to others about your loss is hard because you worry that you may overwhelm them with your grief, getting help through therapy is the best road to healing.
I'm passionate about working with individuals that have experienced loss. I have ample experience helping clients move through their grief in individual and group settings. I recognized that a loss of a pet, housing, job, or health can trigger the same response as the loss through death. Loss through miscarriage or abortion is often not talked about either, but it may feel equally overwhelming. If you recognize any of these feelings in yourself but are still wondering if you should talk about it because you experienced the loss a long time ago, know that there is no limit or a timeline to heal. We all grieve differently and we all have the capacity to grow and heal.
