My Approach to Helping

Whether people seek counseling as an individual or as a couple, everyone usually comes in feeling vulnerable. I work to create a relationship of trust so that individuals and couples feel they can be vulnerable in a safe place, with a safe guide. Often, our learned coping methods do not help us navigate the new situations in our lives. I work with clients to develop their skills of resilience and areas of strength to develop new ways of adapting to the emotional, relational and workplace factors that have been a source of distress. My approach is collaborative because, at the end of the day, I want my clients to live the lives they desire with the skills they have developed through our work.

More Info About My Practice

I use a sliding scale based on need, which is the reason I do not accept insurance. My fees run $50 to $100. I have hours in the evening and on the weekends to accommodate my clients' schedules.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As an educator, I work to help clients understand the reasons for their issues before developing strategies with clients to create behaviors they feel are effective and enhance their life experiences.

I have developed trainings on anger management and conflict resolution within relationships to help people develop healthy ways to express important emotions such as anger.

I am also certified as a Level Two Gottman Therapist in the relationship program developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman.

I do a great deal of career and workplace counseling and mentoring for clients.

I have training in trauma-informed therapy and EMDR techniques.
