My Approach to Helping
It takes courage to ask for help, and it can feel humbling to speak to a stranger about the difficult or painful parts of our life. I offer a non-judgmental and supportive space in which we can work together to help you find clarity and healing. I work compassionately, with humor and straight-forwardness, supporting greater awareness, insight, choice and fulfillment.
I have worked in the fields of education and mental health for 20+ years. I am trained and experienced in child development, child bereavement, adolescent development and adjustment, parenting, crisis, grief, and trauma. My approach is biopsychosocial and holistic, informed by attachment, modern psychoanalytic, humanistic, existential and feminist theories.
Education & Training: Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the New College of California and am a LMHC . I have done further graduate level work in clinical & research psychology at The University of Derby, in the UK, and Saybrook University. I also have training in Existential therapy, Sand Tray therapy, and Career Counseling.
