My Approach to Helping

I can appreciate your effort in looking for a therapist. It's difficult and it's critical. You deserve to be met with the same effort from your therapist.

I practice with a sense of purpose and meaning that goes far beyond my clinical training. Therapy is more than theory. It's a resource that can unlock the grasp of unhelpful patterns. When you're stuck and you ask for help, great things can happen.

My training led to a strong grounding in the cognitive behavioral therapies but my approach doesn't stop there. It is not uncommon for me to draw heavily on the existential and humanistic aspects of life. No one therapy is any better than the other in addressing all problems in life. I highly value flexibility and I borrow the best each theory provides to craft a unique therapy that works for you.

My Role as a Therapist

I help people who have discovered that the way they've always handled their problems isn't working anymore. I help people get themselves unstuck. I do this by helping you infuse your life with new perspectives and skills as well as some of the helpful ones you already possess.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

What if someone tripped while walking on a trail? Let's say they take a spill and they break their collarbone. What would we suggest they do? Get help, right? I don't believe there is much difference. Suffering is suffering. Therapy is the way we treat emotional pain.
