My Approach to Helping
SLOW DOWN JUST BREATHE - Make this your first step to effectively manage the challenges that confront you in your day to day life. In therapy, we will work together to confront your concerns, problem areas and improve the quality of your life. I use a client-centered, psychodynamic and solution-based approach that will guide you toward living the life you are worthy of.
With over 25 years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy, I have worked with adults, children, teens and families with mood disorders, anger issues, interpersonal conflicts, trauma, grief, adjustment issues including adjustment to medical conditions (acute and chronic) and employment-related mental health concerns. My expertise includes training in evidenced-based practice therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior therapies, Mindfulness, Relational, and Group Therapy. In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct instructor at Hunter College, consultant to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and trainer for Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy Center. I facilitate groups for individuals living with multiple sclerosis and individuals impacted by cancer.
In my approach, I will empathically listen to you wholeheartedly while connecting to you in a genuine, safe, and supportive environment. I am currently accepting new patients and offering a FREE phone consultation. I do not currently accept insurance, but can provide documentation to submit to an insurance company for out of network benefit coverage. Sliding scale fees are offered and can be discussed during the initial phone consultation.
