My Approach to Helping
As a therapist, I place an emphasis on what is important to you, and give an honest and trusting space where you can speak freely and grow as a person. My approach to treatment is collaborative, in which techniques backed by experience and a close connection facilitate a deep spiritual and emotional bond. My therapy is also tailored to your issues and needs, and uses multiples approaches to create the most effective change, resulting in personalized understanding and growth. Throughout the process, we will identity strengths and problems and find resultstogether.
I specialize in trauma, mood disorders, same-sex attraction, sexual addictions, anger problems, relationship issues, and substance abuse problems.
I place a special emphasis on veterans and wounded warriors, and work well with motivated people who use faith as a step to healing. I have been trained in addicition, trauma, and couples therapies (psychodynamic, CBT, EFT, Sensorimotor, EMDR and Gestalt), and know how to make great progress with such issues. My success is supported by a collaborative atmosphere, an understanding of self, and treatment which stresses the relationship between body, mind, and spirit.
Though I am a Christian therapist who belives God has a special place in the therapy session, I welcome all backgrounds and beliefs. We can learn and grow whoever we are and wherever we come from.
