My Approach to Helping

Reproductive Journey California is devoted to helping individuals and couples successfully navigate infertility and assisted reproduction to build the families of their dreams. The family building journey can be confusing and overwhelming. This is especially true if you’ve discovered that becoming pregnant has not been as easy as you had anticipated it would be. Infertility is a medical condition that touches all aspects of your life. It can often affect your relationships with others, your perspective on life, and even how you feel about yourself.

I work with individuals and couples experiencing fertility issues, the LGBTQ+ community, and single parents by choice, all of whom are on their family building journeys.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I specialize in Infertility Counseling and Psychotherapy. I’m affirming, sensitive and responsive to the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community, having worked extensively as a Gender Therapist. As a Registered Nurse, I specialized in Maternal Child Health, as well as Behavioral Healthcare.

Using my advanced training as a trauma-informed clinician, I believe that it's essential to understand my clients’ life experiences so that I can provide effective, holistic care enabling my clients to derive the best possible therapeutic outcomes.

Whether your journey involves assisted reproductive technology, or adoption to achieve your ultimate dreams of becoming parents, you don’t need to go through the process alone.

The best way to overcome your concerns is to talk it out with the right therapist who understands & can provide you the meaningful support you need. I invite you to reach out to me. You'll have a safe, non-judgmental space in which to think, share, explore new ideas & identify actionable approaches. Best of all, you'll feel like yourself again, only better.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

It was my own experience with infertility, two high risk pregnancies, and difficult births that motivated me to work with couples and individuals facing similar life events. I believe in the transformational power of the therapeutic relationship. We heal through the telling and retelling of our stories, we benefit greatly from the catharsis that comes from sharing our anguish and pain with someone who has been on a similar journey.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Psychotherapy is most effective when a trusting, respectful and caring relationship has developed between client(s) and their psychotherapist. Genuine empathy, alliance, attunement, and a client's experience of being seen, heard, respected and understood by their therapist are instrumental for psychotherapy to be successful.
