My Approach to Helping
Throughout my career, I have formed a collaborative relationship with my clients in the rediscovery of their inner resources. My clients and I evaluate these assets to take steps towards mutually defined treatment goals. I believe change is possible. Through transitions, loss, old wounds, and current anxieties, I believe there is wisdom that emerges within the process. This contemplative exercise often provides insight as to the bewildering partnership between thoughts, emotion and behavior that stand in the way of satisfying work, school or interpersonal relationships.
I served as a clinical social worker in the Honolulu Veterans’ Outpatient Clinic for over a decade. I have worked as a registered occupational therapist in three day programs for personas challenged by persistent mental illness chronic medical conditions, and lower socioeconomic status. I also taught graduate students at Samuel Merritt University.
Together, we can set goals to build the life you dream. Whether you are facing issues of anxiety, depression, chemical dependency, or working through life transitions, I would be honored to join your journey of healing and self-discovery.
