My Approach to Helping
Ten years ago, when I began the journey to become a therapist, I was rifling through old papers and found a letter to my future self written in fourth grade. The letter said, "when I grow up I want to be a person that helps people, like a teacher, a psychiatrist or a daycare worker." I hung this letter on my wall in a frame and it reminds me everyday of the innocence and intelligence of our youth. My drive comes from a place where we all have insecurities and we rise above and beat them. If it is from our trials that we learn how strong we can truly be. My purpose is to help you find your inner strengths and yell out to the world, "This is me! Accept me for who I am and encourage me to be who I want to be!" I utilize techniques that enable you to achieve healing and maximum potential in shorter amounts of time. My goal is not to keep you in therapy. It is to help you get where you want to be as safely and genuinely as possible. If you have a particular goal in mind, I invite you to call me today. I am never to busy to help.

My Role as a Therapist
If we were to fast forward three months and therapy did exactly what you needed, what would your life look like? How could I tell that it worked? It is important to have a clear picture of what we are working toward and it is also okay if those goals shift or change. I will continually check-in with you to ensure that we are working together in achieving what you need.
I encourage us to meet weekly. I have seen solid results in weekly therapy as apposed to once per month or twice monthly sessions. It is important to me that you make progress. Have you seen the show "The Biggest Loser?" This may sound cheesy but I promise it helps my point. Contestants have several months to lose most of their goal weight. If one of them decided to take a few weeks off in between, they would lose site of their goal and not be able to implement the strategies given to them to succeed. Losing weight is hard and in my opinion healing hurt is harder. I encourage you to take initiative today. Take a deep breath and give me a call. I look forward to working with you.
