My Approach to Helping
I believe, like Alfred Adler, that if people knew what to do then they'd do it and not be coming to see me. Some form of education is often most helpful to my patients. I have seen patients take a simple idea and use it to make beautiful changes in their life. I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist - which means I help patients change their thinking, their behaving or both. I do not endorse psychoactive medications in most cases primarily because research has not shown them to be effective, secondarily because they all bring unpleasant side effects, and finally because one does not learn anything by taking a pill.
