My Approach to Helping
It is my belief that therapy is a process you don't have to go through on your own. I believe that meeting people where they are, as well as collaborating with, problem-solving, and working as a team, is where positive change can occur most effectively. I consider myself a very interactive therapist, whose therapeutic foundation is based on the meaning we create from the situations we face every day.
I focus heavily on core belief work in that I help my clients understand that the manner in which they view themselves in the world also defines how they will think, feel, believe, and act in the world. I believe we all have the ability to make long-lasting, positive changes in our lives, and sometimes we just need someone to help us recognize our power to do so. This is where I can help.
I also believe that connecting to one's authentic self is where we can do some of our best healing. In my 10 plus years of being a therapist, helping my clients reconnect to lost or forgotten parts of themselves and experience true, authentic joy has been one of the greatest experiences I speak of.
In regards to my approach to working together, all I ask is that you be yourself.
I tailor my therapy based on what the client needs most and incorporate multiple modalities such as CBT, EMDR, REBT, and SFT, for example.
I applaud and respect you for making the decision to change your life, as I believe that change can be a difficult process, one that takes courage and commitment, and I look forward to joining you on your path to better living.
