Is it becoming difficult to leave work every time your child's school calls? Do you feel like you can't talk to your teen or they just won't listen to you? Are your kids pushing you too your limits. Can you imagine how your kids feel? I can, and I want to reach the good and loving kid I know is there. I'm a Child Therapist in the Bay Area, whose has over 10 years experience working with all ages of children and adolescents. My experience in private and public school systems have helped me to understand the educational systems, special ed, and my way around an IEP, and your childs "behavioral issues". My experience working with emotional disabled children and with children in our foster and probation systems, has taught me the ugly side of trauma that our innocent boys and girls have endured; and often are just trying to fight their way out. A wise man once said; "Behavior is a language - all we have to do is learn the language."
Having also been trained as a Life Coach, my approach is to first get to know you, find out who you are, and most importantly who you want to be. In the therapy room, I don't sit in my chair, answering questions with questions, or nodding my head saying; "hum, and how does that make you feel?" I work with you using my training in a way that works best with you; everyone is different. I focus on mind body and spirit. The joy of my training (Transpersonal psychology) is it is inclusive of all approaches from analytical and CBT to mindfulness meditation and art therapy; all of which are in my toolbox.
You're not a child and want to talk to a therapist? That's ok, I have adult clients too. I see individuals, couples and families - interestingly enough we always talk about children or childhood at one point.
My practice focuses on:
- Child-Adolescent behavioral issues
- Trauma - Autism, PTSD,OCD,ODD
- Relationship issues
- Grief
- Depression and Anxiety
