My Approach to Helping
Is a relationship draining you of your energy and confidence? It may be time to explore what's going on so you can feel empowered to make positive changes. I like to think of my work as a "recharge" of sorts by giving clients the time and space to think, reflect, and speak openly.
At times it may be difficult to get a strong and steady footing in order to dig in and see what's happening. I create a safe place for you to explore, either alone or with your partner. We'll look at how people and things in your life are influencing behaviors that keep happening or negative thoughts that won't go away. We'll work together to see what's holding you back from experiencing personal fulfillment and true meaning.
More Info About My Practice
My standard sessions are 50 minutes and I do offer an extended 75-minute session for those that would like more time. My rates range from $105-150 depending on the time, day, and duration. I take all forms of payment and credit cards.
I am a fee-for-service therapist which means that I do not work directly with insurance companies as an out-of-networker provider. Please visit my website for an explanation of why I work in this manner and how it benefits you.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Research shows that one of the most important factors of successful therapy is the connection between you and your therapist. If the connection isn't there it's hard to commit to the work. This is why I offer a 30-minute, free consultation for prospective clients. We all have unique personalities and styles and cannot be a fit for everyone. If you feel we're not a fit I will offer referrals for you to explore.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
People walk into therapy wondering how long it's going to take to fix things. It's different for every client because each situation is unique. Our goal is to work my way out of a job to a place where you no longer need me. We'll determine together when therapy is done. I find that most of my clients engage in therapy for 6-12 months. However, you may start feeling better after a handful of sessions.
