My Approach to Helping
Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable with and connected to is one of the most essential pieces to therapy. I believe that working with someone who is the right fit is a necessary component for creating change and being able to share information within an open and safe environment. Attempting to lessen symptomology is important as well as addressing the deeper issues that are impacting functioning. Working together with my clients and utilizing their input throughout our work together serves as a necessary part of the healing process.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I use an integrative approach when working with my clients, some of which include Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Humanistic therapies. Each client is different and all experiences are unique, so my therapy is very client dependent. Ultimately I strive to work with clients in a way that focuses on their specific needs and issues and really try to listen to their desires and concerns. I work with individuals, families, and couples who are experiencing all types of difficulties in their lives. Specifically, I treat anxiety disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, anger, and low self-esteem. However, I work with clients who face many other challenges and are experiencing a variety of other mental health issues as well.
