My Approach to Helping
There are times when depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, losses, addictions or stress get in the way of enjoying our lives as fully as we wish to. It is my passion to work with clients through emotional pain toward freedom and joy and toward all the beautiful potential each of us carries with us.
In my practice, the client is the expert on themselves. I walk alongside my client, helping them to gain successful tools for living. Together, we work toward your goals in an environment of trust, safety and nurturing guidance. This happens through healing past disappointment, trauma, relationship challenges, neglect or abuse, codependency, addiction, and other emotional challenges.
I am passionate about helping others to live their fullest life, no matter their circumstances. I combine talk therapy with hypnotherapy and L.I. (both geared toward better neuro functioning of the brain) for a number of issues and believe in a holistic approach to body, mind and spirit healing. I am respectful toward all cultures, life choices and belief systems, and offer Christian therapy upon request.
More Info About My Practice
While I do not take insurance, I will work on a sliding scale. With deductibles and co-pays this sometimes ends up no more expensive than using an insurance plan. I also provide a universal insurance billing that you can present to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Hypnotherapy, L.I. (lifespan integration therapy) and mindfulness practices all help in quickly honing in on areas that are presently causing us the most internal suffering. Hypnotherapy accelerates the healing because it is working with the subconscious mind where all memories and beliefs and stored, and with the body where all anxiety, inhibition, and shame are stored. Today hypnotherapy is being used for emotional difficulties, pain control, trauma and PTSD resolution, addictions recovery, anxiety and stress management, allergies, high blood pressure and other physical ailments.
I am also trained in Recovery Coaching and Life Coaching. I am very familiar with 12-step recovery programs and can walk side-by-side with those in recovery, or those hoping to recover from the prison of addiction. Recovery Coaching is also useful for changing relationship patterns, connecting more wholly with self, and building new and healthier patterns of thought and interaction in order to build a beautiful new life.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
The psychology of today has moved past the days of recalling your childhood or examining your dreams, although understanding the root of our challenges can be helpful in creating new directions. Today's counseling also uses a number of empirically (scientifically) tested methods to aid healing and self-growth. The support of a trained, empathetic professional can help us get through difficult periods of life and point us toward healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.
