My Approach to Helping
I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds to work through personal struggles and relationship difficulties; to identify strengths, recognize patterns, and develop coping skills; and ultimately, to initiate life change. The plan for therapy will be based on YOUR goals and needs. I not only recognize, but prioritize the reality that each of us is unique. So whether you are feeling anxious, depressed, unhappy; are dealing with stress, trauma, grief or anger; I am here for you. Perhaps you just know you aren't living your best life. Maybe you need someone to vent to; someone to support you in gaining clarity and understanding. The plan for therapy is developed to fit your unique needsgoals. We may process events and feelings, discuss options and strategies, and consider alternate choices and perspectives. New insights and understanding, alternative perspectives, healthy coping skills and new ways of being are all part of what you can expect as a result of engaging in the therapeutic journey.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the CRPO. My practice is non-judgmental, genuine, and supportive. My goal as a psychotherapist is to unite with you in such a way in which we are enabled to explore your emotions, troubles, as well as challenges that you are facing. Uniquely You Counselling and Psychotherapy was established to provide a listening ear in the midst of troubles, support throughout problem solving or coping, or guidance while engaging in self growth and discovery. In an effort to honour what makes each individual unique, I work from an integrative approach, combining toolsmethods from multiple therapies. We will establish a strong working relationship in an effort to get you on the path of living your best life. Beyond realism, my practice is largely based upon psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioural, and social learning theories. A range of evidence-based interventions and therapies such as CBT, mindfulness, narrative therapy, acceptance therapy, solution-focused therapy as well as good old talk therapy are used.
