My Approach to Helping
I am an art therapist with working experience in psychiatric hospitals and in-home therapy. My primary mode of therapy is Telehealth. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in a 1:1 setting and also group settings, for the past 12 years. My individual and group treatment approach involves a person centered therapeutic approach, meeting the client in the here and now. When working with groups I also like to employ an existentialist perspective, which I have found very useful for diverse populations. Underlying issues that affect the patients I have worked with have ranged anywhere from reactive attachment disorder and neglect, to schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder. I love my work and I love the populations I have worked with. Art is used in therapy to assist the client in exploring their emotions through therapeutic art interventions customized to fit the client's needs.
