My Approach to Helping
The foundation of my therapeutic approach is based on how individuals communicate and function. You are unique and special, with every relationship being shaped differently. Circumstances from the past may be limiting you from achieving healthy boundaries, and ultimately happiness within your relationships, whether at home or within your career. I operate from a holistic, systemic perspective in viewing entire relationship systems. My goal is to achieve an empathic and respectful connection with my clients. Each session will be very individualized, using various psychological therapeutic approaches such as for couples, the Gottman Method based on 40+ years of research in what makes marriages succeed or fail, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. My goal is to help clients understand their individual perspectives, emotions, and behaviors along with their past which may contribute in whether their relationships either work or fail. My approach is to help clients identify patterns of communication that may be destructive, leading to core issues or problems within their relationships. I assist each client in thinking through new strategies to achieve clarity and honesty within themselves. I specialize in couples therapy, child and adolescent therapy, premarital or marriage counseling, divorce counseling, elder counseling, parenting and co-parenting counseling, and always as a priority - family therapy.
