More Info About My Practice

I have extensive experience moving couples from hopelessness toward healing and reconnection. If you are experiencing frequent communication impasses, infidelity, lack of sexual interest and disconnect, I can help. I take a collaborative approach that includes a mixture of talk therapy, mindfulness, neurobiology education and recommended readings.

I\'ve worked at Oregon Health and Science University as a family therapist supporting families with children who struggle with chronic, complex medical issues. I\'ve also worked at Portland State University\'s Community Counseling Clinic.

In my previous career, I was a horticulturist and a writer. I have a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The strength of the relationship between counselor and client is the single-most important factor in a successful outcome. When searching for the right counselor, it's important to contact several different professionals to find the right fit: someone who makes you feel safe and who connects with your issues. I am a warm, approachable, kind, intuitive and seasoned individual who might be the right match for you. I encourage you to contact me for a free 15-minute phone consultation to explore if this is the case. I am always happy to refer you to another excellent counselor who may be a better fit. I look forward to hearing from you. 503-805-1566
