My Approach to Helping
I believe people can be overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions that prevent healing, peace, and self-love. I enjoy helping by teaching those to accept themselves and improve on strengths while creating a life of fulfillment. I am warm, empathic, and listen intently. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and provided treatment for those impacted by domestic violence and other severe trauma. I also spent several years working with teens in schools. I use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused techniques. I practice trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) for youth having posttraumatic stress symptoms from trauma. I believe in mindfulness, self-compassion, and living by what you value most.
