My Approach to Helping
*All sessions are conducted virtually* I provide research-supported therapies customized to fit clients' unique personal and cultural characteristics. I work best with motivated clients to: Increase insight into maladaptive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; Identify causes of personal distress, decreased functioning, and harmful behaviors; Create a sustainable action plan to increase wellness; utilize strengths and resources, and Plan for potential future setbacks. I use therapeutic techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (C(B)T), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), brief dynamic, interpersonal, and solution-focused. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship conflict, stage of life issues, among others. I maintain a culturally informed framework which guides the assessment, intervention, and maintenance stages of therapy. Experienced with issues facing college students, international students, people of color, LGBTQ+ community, older adults, and women. I conduct Psycho-educational (ADHDADDLD) and Psycho-diagnostic (eg: MMPI, PAI) assessments and offer supervision and mentoring to Registered Psychological Assistants (RPA) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT).
