My Approach to Helping
I am a mental health professional dedicated to helping people become their best selves. I believe that every person deserves the opportunity to be free from suffering and emotional pain. But beyond that, I believe that everyone deserves the chance to lead a healthy and meaningful life. My approach to psychotherapy is simple: You foster within yourself the power to change the things in your life that are causing you to be distressed or feel emotionally imbalanced. I believe in taking a holistic approach - or treating the whole person - to enhance your quality of life and overall well-being.
More Info About My Practice
I offer a safe place where you can focus on healing and growth. My areas of expertise include anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, sleep problems, chronic stress affecting both the general population and individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. I utilize mindfulness-based practices and interventions as well as a variety of evidence-based models.
Research shows that incorporating mindfulness-based practices into your daily life can help with many of the problems that affect our society today, like stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, over-eating, PTSD, insomnia and sleep quality, anger, and even work/school productivity. Though meditation is a very effective mindfulness practice, there are many other ways.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Mental health counseling, also called psychotherapy or simply therapy, is a process of growth and discovery. I emphasize the therapeutic relationship in a collaborative approach while applying evidence-based models as well as experiential ones to focus on your wellness goals. Whether you are dealing with stress and anxiety or recovering from trauma, I am here to offer supportive treatment through a diverse range of methods in safe and confidential sessions.
