My Approach to Helping
My name is Phuong Le. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a Vietnamese-Bilingual psychotherapist who would like to bring therapy to people who feel therapy is only accessible to a select few. I have been a post-licensed therapist for more than 17 years. I am particularly passionate about offering services to people experiencing marginalization.
I have been trained in psychodynamic approaches, object-relations theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy approaches and use mindfulness as an integral part of my work with clients. I have a Master's in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's in General Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. I have worked as a direct service clinician, manager, clinical supervisor, and oversee contracts for mental health provider agencies.
I've dedicated my career to empowering and strengthening culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities. As mental health providers, I believe we cannot ignore the intersectional effects on mental health.I am interested in exploring and introducing the inherent powers of cultures to heal individuals, families, and communities.
I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal and familial relationships. I have experience leading clients through painful experiences of trauma and grief resulting from interpersonal and other violence as a result of inequities and racial distress. Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy, I support and assist those willing to make a positive difference in their lives.
I pride myself on providing a safe and supportive space for people to work side by side to overcome trauma and barriers. I specialize in addressing healing despite external adversities, mental and physical conditions, using internal and cultural strengths. I am a strength-based, culture-focused, humanistic therapist who is very excited and interested in the journeys of each person who wants to learn from their experiences.
I am fully committed to listening and offering my best professional practices to help you. I use humor and compassion to provide some reprieve from personal pain and offer honesty to dispel personal inaccurate myths. You can count on my empathetic and person-centered approach to every conversation we take part in.
Thank you for taking the first step and allowing me to be part of this very important journey.
I look forward to meeting you!
