My Approach to Helping
Psychotherapy is an intense and rewarding experience and offers the opportunity to work together in understanding how past experiences, life events and family of origin experiences have impacted functioning relationships, and personality development.In my work, we will discuss possible problematic thinking and beliefs which may be associated with self defeating behavior and decisions. The life events we are all confronted with can be challenging-career changes, job loss, loss of a loved one, relationship issues/loss, an empty nest are difficult life stage transitions for all of us and can influence depressive symptoms and anxiety. I can help in identifying obstacles which are preventing you from making changes or resolving relationship issues. We can collaborate in developing life change goals and skills development helpful in coping with difficult challenges and achieving your life goals and dreams.
In couples therapy we can work on issues of anger, trust, infidelity, communications and parenting. It can be helpful to learn to talk with your partner or loved ones in different ways or understanding negative feelings which are getting in the way in your interactions with others. Change is possible. I will look forward to working with you.
