My Approach to Helping

Do you long to make the changes necessary to feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment? You really can begin anew!

Are you are feeling you have ADD, PTSD or just not feeling "normal" ( what ever that is!) ? Are noticing your day-to-day life interrupted by disturbing thoughts, emotions that you thought you had dealt with ? You can learn to let go of that which holds you down and move towards a more satisfying, purposeful life. You may be surprised at the progress you make through your own insights and observations!

A thoughtful program of therapy can heal the mind and release the physiological impact of traumatic experience.

In an atmosphere of active acceptance, you and I can help you to identify your areas of difficulty and help you to find your creative solutions to let go of the past and move on.

I invite you to unpack your emotional baggage and leave it in my office! You can accept and like yourself. Learn to not be afraid of your emotions, moods and thoughts, and modify your behaviors and set realistic goals.

Your therapy will be designed according to your unique history and circumstances. I use cognitive therapies and body-based trauma healing, especially BrainSpotting ( please google Brainspotting for more info)>

We will make a plan for your time in sessions and what you can do to help yourself in-between sessions. A program based on your time needs and availability will be created to help you get the most from your therapy while giving you flexibility and support.

You are not alone in your journey. Let's work together and help make use of the resources you have ( but maybe have never used !) so you can move ahead to a more satisfying, fulfilling life! Your life can change for the better in the way that you choose. IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

More Info About My Practice

Your ability and opportunity to come into the therapy space is also important. Sometimes you just can't travel to your therapist's office and that may be the time when you really want to talk. To deal with the complications of busy schedules, heavy traffic and bad weather, I offer HIPPA compliant secure video conferencing. Video conferencing requires that you have a private space from which to talk without interruption and a current operating system on your smart phone, tablet or computer. I can help you with a free download from a secure video conferencing company. You and I can discuss this option after we have established a therapeutic relationship. It is not right for everyone but it may be right for you.

In addition, I have two hypoallergenic therapy puppies that are friendly and helpful in reducing stress. They can attend your session upon request.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I had a diagnosis of PTSD and clinical depression when I was in my 20's, I have grown up struggling with ADD, not realizing I had it until I was an adult. I am a cancer survivor of 11 years. I may not know your painful experiences but I do know how it feels when life becomes overwhelmingly difficult, when fear, stress crop up to the level that you are frozen.

Having grown up in a military family, I developed adaptability, flexibility and resilience, skills that helped me grow and cope over the years. You, too, have inner skills you can use to assist you in growth and renewal. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with a phone call. Let's talk. I think we can work together. All the best, Peggy
