My Approach to Helping

My approach is strength-based, collaborative and holistic. The foundation of our work together includes building your skills; increasing your awareness, sense of emotional stability, emotional intelligence, and resilience, along with helping you learn to advocate for yourself gracefully and effectively. I believe that my clients are resourceful individuals with insight and skill waiting to be tapped in the interest of improvement of their health and well-being.

More Info About My Practice

Do you continue to struggle with unwanted troubling behaviors that compromise your potential? Overeating, binge drinking, angry outbursts, procrastination, unfulfilling- one-sided relationships, indiscretions and many other unproductive behaviors can get in the way of achieving your goals. There is hope! You can break these painful cycles of repetition, even if you have tried to change for many years.

You can rely on my 20 years of experience to give you the behavioral counseling you need. I apply evidence-based behavioral strategies in my work with adults with the above-mentioned concerns, as well as those with symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction, complex trauma, and/or difficult personality traits.

Feedback from my clients has included that I am empathically direct, clear, and solutions oriented, as well as highly skilled at navigating through complex issues. In short, I help people reach their goals. My The office is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

- Addictive behavior
- Mood problems - overwhelming emotions
- Complex situations where there are multiple issues occurring simultaneously. For example; addiction, pain, depression, and occupational problems.
- Life transitions; divorce, retirement and "empty nest."

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Sometimes people ask me how I can listen to people's problems every day. I always tell them, I don't hear negatives as much as I hear about opportunity and possibilities!

There is always an opportunity for improvement. When clients can start to use their minds and strengths in more productive ways, things start to shift and change.

As quoted by Carl Jung - "Behind our wounds lie our greatest gifts".

It is an honor to work with people in the work of self development and to see the "real self emerge" from within.
