My Approach to Helping
I utilize and respect therapeutic approaches from a variety of philosophies, though I primarily work within a relational style of therapy. I especially embrace psychodynamic concepts, including the idea of creating a secure, safe place where you can uncover and embrace your deepest desires and fears.
I believe that all problems are ultimately relational. The relationship between therapist and client allows you to explore the problems, struggles, and issues that affect your relationships and life, creating meaningful opportunities for change.
We will partner together to look at the specific issues that brought you to therapy, in addition to exploring your most important relationships. These relationships make contribute to both your deepest fears and greatest desires. We will explore how your relationships interfere with and enhance your other relationships and yourself, with the ultimate goal of helping you regain freedom and hope in your life and relationships.
