My Approach to Helping
I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process by which I can help my clients gain clarity and direction in areas of their life where they may feel stuck. At times, I help clients to identify effective problem solving techniques to overcome immediate obstacles, and other times, we examine deeper concerns or patterns that inhibit growth, personal satisfaction, and a sense of overall well-being.
With each client, my focus is on aligning the direction of therapy with one's personal goals, while establishing a safe and creative environment to develop new perspectives. For some, these goals are concrete, while others have more vague and long term ideas, and some understandably struggle just to know what their goals are. In each situation, I strive to take a balanced approach so that we can create a space to be spontaneous while also feeling productive with the course of therapy.
