My Approach to Helping

In this hyperconnected world, we are more isolated than ever before. Times of isolation lead to emotional triggers, relationship conflict, and unhealthy habits. But a time of isolation can also become a time for contemplation and change. Maybe you've already tried self-help books or therapy, but something was missed and you'd like a more thoughtful approach.

My approach is to adjust the therapy to fit the client rather than making the client fit the therapy. I draw from cutting-edge research and theory to customize your treatment. I am optimistic that over time our collaboration may offer you lasting insights into how even your deepest concerns could transform into opportunities for growth.

I am a licensed counselor in the states of MA, VA, and RI. I am also a professor of psychology, international conference speaker, researcher and writer. Email me now for a free brief phone consultation or Zoom camera call so I can learn how my next professional opportunity could also be your next resource.

More Info About My Practice

One of the unique features of my practice is that I intentionally limit the number of clients that I meet with so I can devote sacrosanct time to private research and writing of my cases, consultation opportunities, and readingeducational activity - all of which enhance the quality of care that I provide. These activities are not required of therapists in private practice, and many do not engage in these activities on a regular basis for several hours per week due to meeting with a higher caseload.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I am fortunate that my career allows me to be more of who I am, not less. I find deep satisfaction in being a helper and giver, making a genuine human connection to others, bearing witness to other people's stories, and being able to use my intellect and deep knowledge of psychological dynamics.
