My Approach to Helping
It's hard to maintain balance in an intense world. Connecting with a safe, trained professional can help you uncover your strengths, resolve trauma, and increase peace. I'm eager to help my clients practice mindful coping, employ a solutions-focus, and attend to soothe embodied sensations that arise as a part of survival patterns often rooted in trauma. I believe the richest healing unfolds in our therapeutic relationship - where we collaborate, build trust, work through what arises in the moment. As a person-centered psychotherapist working through a body-based, somatic lens, I meet you where you are as you are.
As founding manager of Pacific Pride Foundation's LGBTQIA+ Program, I understand the need for competency in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and their partnersfamilies. As a white therapist, I am trained in supporting Black, Indigenous, and diverse clients of color from a place of awareness, action, self-critique and patient empowerment. I welcome my clients' feedback on our process, enjoy using mindfulness-based practices, art therapy, inner family system work, and somatic interventions-and others-to help clients move into greater resilience. Don't hesitate to reach out!
