My Approach to Helping
I am a Christian Counselor specializing in Sex Therapy (infidelity, sexual performance problems, lack of desire, or other sexual issues); and treating survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), domestic violence, and trauma. In addition, I work with couples, and individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief and loss.
Life can become difficult at times. However, with help, things can improve. I offer Christian as well as secular counseling and have the utmost respect for the individuality and uniqueness of each person. My desire is to create a safe, healthy, and trusting environment.
As a survivor of CSA, I am able to relate in ways others cannot. I believe that individuals are hurt in relationships, yet it is in relationships where the greatest healing occurs. Healing does not happen overnight, but it is available to those who seek it. Let me help you in your healing journey.`
More Info About My Practice
When the pain of changing is less than the pain of staying the same, change occurs. Counseling works if you are hungry and desperate. If you could change yourself, you would have already done it. Do not let the fear of needing help keep you from your healing. Think of building a log cabin. If only one person works on it, it could take years to finish, but with help, it could be built in a few months. It takes courage to ask for help, and valor to work through the pain. However, the healing is worth it.
My Role as a Therapist
Is to walk beside you in your pain. You are the expert when it comes to what is best for you. However, sometimes individuals simply need help in distinguishing the forest from the trees. I do not fix anyone, or change anyone, only God can do that. I listen with my heart, mind, and spirit, and help sort out the confusion. I strive to bring reason and calm during the storms of life.
