My Approach to Helping
We all have struggled at stages in our lives. We can move past the most difficult ones to find new joy and vitality when working with a trained therapist. Systemic focused therapy includes processing what beliefs you have formed about yourself and deciding which ones to keep. Then, integrating new ways of thinking into your life today. I utilize systemic family therapy models including Bowen that integrate how we learned to see the world and the impact that has on how we are in relationship with others today. Trained in EMDR, Gottman for couples and certified in a CBT parenting model that incorporates mindfulness, I also pull from these evidence-based treatments in working with clients.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
As a former journalist, one the hardest aspects was hearing people struggling without being able to step in and offer assistance. I love this part of being a therapist, I get the amazing privilege to walk alongside you in your journey and offer different paths and ways of looking at challenges. I enjoy listening to client's struggles with compassion and understanding. This is the recipe for change, a strong therapeutic relationship. I thoroughly enjoy this part of my work.
