It's a delusion that you can take a sincere path in life without having your heart broken, says poet David Whyte. To be human is to have our hearts broken: by loss of loved ones; loss of health and vitality; loss of confidence in ourselves or faith in the goodness of others. Yet most of us work quite hard to avoid vulnerability and distract ourselves from the pain of loss.

As your therapist, I will serve as witness to your particular heartbreak; guide and support in your effort to move with courage, grace, and humor through the experience. My invitation to you is to be deeply and compassionately present with the difficulties, to allow your heart to be broken, and in doing so, to uncover your hidden strengths and capacity to thrive.

More Info About My Practice

I draw upon a number of modalities to support my practice, including emotionally focused therapy, family systems theory, mindfulness, the enneagram, existential and Jungian psychology. However, the most significant factor determining my therapeutic approach with you will be you. Your values, experiences, and ways of understanding the world will direct our work together. And each of us will be changed by the experience we have with one another.
