My Approach to Helping
I have worked with adolescents and their families for over 20 years and enjoy this population for its challenges and for the opportunity to work with families who may be struggling with the diverse issues around adolescent life choices and consequences. I believe that adolescents are the most interesting people on the planet. My approach to helping people is based on the philosophy that everyone is unique and my work with people is geared to their particular needs. There is no "one size fits all" approach in my practice. My love of challenges and methods of dealing with resistance has made my practice always interesting.
More Info About My Practice
My practice also deals with issues of trauma and survival. Helping people to overcome those things that keep them stuck and helping them move on with a hopeful future is part of what I enjoy doing. Family issues is another area I am passionate about. Parents are blamed for so much of what happens to our children, however, there are no "how-to" books on parenting that guarantee success. Following my philosophy that all people and families are unique, the issues that the family brings to the sessions are the ones addressed. After all, each of you is the experts on yourselves and your families.
