My Approach to Helping
One size never fits all. I take a collaborative, compassionate, and integrative approach to therapy based on the unique strengths, interests, needs, and goals of the individual. In addition to working with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health issues, I am interested in helping those who feel overwhelmed by trauma, loss, and grief. I consider the work--building a supportive, therapeutic, safe relationship in order to make positive changes and achieve more balance and wholeness--to be a privilege.
More Info About My Practice
The Affordable Care Act (Obama Care) has made medical insurance accessible for many, and for some it has brought unexpected changes in coverage and benefits. Please make sure to understand your benefits, such as level of deductible, amount of co-payco-insurance for a mental health provider, and reimbursement for out-of-network care. Also important is to determine whether prior authorization is needed in order to see a therapist, and the number of sessions covered.
As a courtesy, I can submit insurance claims on clients' behalf, but expect payment at the time of the session. If you are a full-time college student, it may be possible to adjust the fees. In order to arrive at a mutually-agreed upon financial arrangement, I prefer to have a face-to-face discussion in my office.
