My Approach to Helping

Hi there! I'm Olivia. I'm here to help you process your past stories and present contexts in order to open up fluidity, new perspectives, and see the possibilities that surround you. I am devoted to treating our work together as a collaborative partnership so you can have experiences that are healing and transformative. Ideally, our work will create more space for joy, authenticity and connection.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy can support long-term healing that includes psyche, body, and spirit. Ketamine has been shown to reset the brain's neuroplasticity, creating new neural connections in the brain. These increased connections can support breakthroughs in understanding the biographical or emotional blocks that keep us feeling stuck.

As you embark on your journey using Ketamine Assisted Therapy it's important to start with a strong foundation: an integrative therapist and a physician are needed to create a treatment team. I work with a psychiatrist colleague to provide you with compassionate and coordinated care.

Background: Since I've been working with mental health, the majority of my clients have struggled to cope with depression, anxiety, or trauma. Seeing my clients individually to develop coping strategies, create plans for the future, and heal themselves has been the cornerstone of my work. Today, as a therapist in private practice, I work with clients to help them build the skills they need to live the best version of their lives day by day. I use a compassionate approach that may combine insight-oriented psychotherapy, art therapy, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. My approach is based on building a strong therapeutic relationship, and I am committed to recognizing your strengths, how you learn, what motivates you, and helping you connect with who you are. My role as your therapist is to help navigate the process of discovering what works best for you. My experience, training and skill-set allow me to help you get the most out of your therapy session in a way that works for you. My approach also includes combination of supportive counseling and practical skills for success in life. I am responsive to your needs and adaptable to your unique characteristics, rather than providing a set one-size-fits all approach. I offer many unique services to co-create treatment to you and your needs and know it can be confusing to navigate the different options, so I offer a free (no pressure) consultation.

If you're looking for support with depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, relationship issues, creativity, self-image improvement or other life challenges then take a look at my website to learn more. From there you can also schedule a free phone consultation to talk in-depth with me about your concerns and explore whether I am the right therapist for you. If you've been searching for a supportive therapist who will listen deeply, take your work seriously and help you make changes in your life, then I would love to hear from you.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

My practice is also based on a deep commitment to my own self-development and continual learning. No matter how many clients I meet, no matter how long I've been practicing, there are new things to discover and new insights to uncover. My clinical approach is informed by study, thousands of hours of practice and training, and a strong background in holistic mental health practices. I am fortunate to continue to learn from many experts who share their wisdom at conferences, workshops and training programs.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

On the fence about going to therapy? I'd imagine feeling stuck isn't working so well. Need a gentle push?
If you're looking for support but feeling unsure, consider this:

-Sometimes just being heard and feeling understood can be enough to dissolve your stuckness.

-Therapy can offer a space of non-judgement with someone who wants the best for you and isn't attached to you staying where you are.

-You can cultivate greater self-acceptance and compassion, which can help the day-to-day feel a lot easier.

-You can work on learning to stop judging yourself by the standards of others. How freeing!

-There's a lot of shame and anxiety in being unhappy, and if you can learn to step out of this loop, you can hold space for a lot of joy in your life.

-I'm sure you have so many reasons of your own. Can you think of a few now?

I've spent many years listening nonjudgmentally to hundreds of people as they've gotten unstuck and I find that therapy can be a gentle but often highly effective way to improve your life. I also know that it's a choice you can make when you're ready. If that day arrives, reach out to me at www.oliviaclear.com.
