My Approach to Helping
Human beings are highly adaptable, but sometimes the ways in which we cope are maladaptive or counter productive. Oftentimes when we encounter adversity our natural instinct is to tough it out and hope things change. Sometimes that can lead to feeling stuck, helpless, or overwhelmed when things don't change. Therapy can help get you unstuck and back to living the life you deserve.
My philosophy as a therapist is rooted in the belief you are the expert in your own life. My job as your therapist is to form a therapeutic alliance based on collaboration, mutual understanding, and trust. This serves as the foundation for goal setting, objective exploration, and in helping you to find your authentic self. My main areas of focus include PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, inner child work, grief, and life transitions.
