My Approach to Helping
We believe an authentic client-therapist relationship is a powerful tool for change. We work with my clients to build a caring, friendly space where people can safely explore and express their true selves. We see therapy as a relationship that frees people to live more joyfully and fully. Clients connect with others, and more fully express themselves at work and in play. Our training has helped us understand the relationships between the mind, body, and emotions. We see the three as an interwoven whole. Addressing this triad in therapy can create lasting change.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a way that you can get a perspective from a trained professional about how to best address what is going on in your life. Usually, through another perspective, you are better able to reframe, make changes and come up with a plan to move forward in the direction that you would like your life to go. Our goal as therapists is to work with the client to align his or her life with his or her own goals (not our own). We have found through over 20 years in the field that when someone aligns with who they are as a person and builds a life that reflects that, he or she finds contentment.
