My Approach to Helping
Do you find yourself struggling to get up in the morning, not finding joy in activities that you used to love, feeling nervous in social situations, or having challenges in trusting others? For many people, their adult lives and relationships are complicated by childhood trauma or unhelpful beliefs about themselves and others which they learned at an early age. Daily stressors that others seem to manage without difficulty may seem daunting and overwhelming for you. Life doesn't have to feel this way. It can be so much better. Helping others develop the insight and skills they need to live happier and more fulfilling lives has been my passion for over 25 years. I use a combination of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness approaches to assist people in learning the skills they need to be empowered in their own recovery from trauma, anxiety, and depression. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance based on support, engagement, and mutual respect is the most powerful and effective means of helping people build their self-esteem, confidence, and competence for healing long-standing wounds and meeting recovery goals.
