My Approach to Helping
Treatment approaches are created based upon the clients’ goals. Primary approaches include, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Narrative, and Solution Focused Brief (SFBT).
I believe the client is the expert to their current situation. As a therapist, I feel my task is to walk side-by-side with the client to find resolutions.
Hobbies/interests: I enjoy reading, journaling, and going for short walks. I am blessed to spend time with family and friends on a weekly basis. I love animals and listening to music.
More Info About My Practice
Education: While living in Idaho I obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from Boise State University and a Masters of Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University.
Experience: During my undergraduate education, my practicum included assisting people who are low income and homeless obtain basic living assistance. For my graduate school practicum, I assisted people living with dementia in receiving appropriate care needed help them find value and self-worth.
In my post graduate work, I have over 10 years of experience working with clients, primarily adults, diagnosed with developmental disabilities. I also have experience working with people who have mental health diagnoses.
