My Approach to Helping
There are some things in life that we cannot avoid. I believe that we are all human and have experiences that impact the quality of our lives at times, whether those experiences are good or bad. My approach to connecting with individuals comes from a cognitive behavioral stance, because there are unhelpful thinking patterns that we all experience, and they can keep us stuck in faulty ways of thinking and behaviors. I also tend to use a solution-focused approach, because individuals who enter into the counseling process are looking for some form of change in their lives. Change often takes place by finding solutions to one's problems. I value the therapeutic relationship, and my goal is to always provide a safe space for my clients to process their feelings and to come into self-awareness.
