My Approach to Helping
Thank you for reaching out, this is the first step in finding help for yourself or a loved one. It may have taken a lot for you to get here, but you're here! It is incredibly important to find a therapist that will be a good fit. I can provide a caring, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic environment for you to grow in while we work through the issues that may be causing you, or someone you care about, discomfort or distress.
As I have grown as a therapist, I have found that the most helpful and effective approach is one that draws from an integration of techniques that will help meet the needs of each individual client. I draw from a psychodynamic, client-centered, and cognitive-behavioral foundation. And depending upon the specific situation or client, there are a number of other approaches I have been trained to use to best meet the needs of the client.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including adolescent group homes and private practice. Throughout my experiences, I have worked with individuals and families in a number of areas including anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD/Impulse control disorders, behavioral issues, developmental disorders, trauma, and adjustment issues.
