My Approach to Helping
I consider that all of us have a healthy baseline but that stress, life adjustments, and/or trauma(s) can interfere with our lives. In my ten years working in one capacity or another in human services, providing therapy to clients has been by far the most challenging and rewarding experience of them all. It is a privilege to journey along with you on your road to wellness.
As knowledge is power, I believe in providing you with the information you need to promote your own agency and health as regards mental health. In a collaborative setting, a safe container, we can explore both what works in grounding/mindfulness/relaxation and more existential concerns to do with the meaning in our lives. It is also important to consider relationships and the quality of our interpersonal functioning as a social connection can often be a key to making sustainable gains in mental health.
Finally, it is important to me that the process of therapy be useful to you. Outcomes in therapy are directly linked to the quality of the therapeutic relationship itself and so I will meet you in working hard to resolve the issues that bring you to my practice.
