Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Have you ever been to a mental health professional before and had a negative experience? Maybe they gave you a bad vibe, had poor boundaries, or you left feeling like they weren't really helpful.

Some of my favorite moments in the therapy relationship are when clients are able to express their insecurities and negative past experiences with therapy, and I can help to reassure them. I promise to check in with you frequently to make sure that our relationship feels like a good fit for you and that you're making the progress that you want. And it always brings a smile to my face when my clients end their intake session saying "I'm really glad I did this. This wasn't as bad as I expected. You made me feel really comfortable, and this is way better than last time I tried!

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Among my top specialties are working with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I'm not ashamed to say that I have had experiences in all of these areas. It's my belief that this has given me valuable personal perspective that goes beyond "Just textbook knowledge." I really know how these issues often feel for my clients, and they are often surprised how specific and deep my empathy for their issues can be. It took me a lot of time and work, but I believe my experiences in these areas make me better able to help you through your own troubles now.
