My Approach to Helping
My experience has been in suicide prevention, community mental health and working with older adults. Doing this, I have seen people at their best and their worst. My work has spanned postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate work. This work has included working with individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences. I come from a culturally sensitive and respectful place, where your lived experience is truly a part of the work we do together.
I work from an integrative style based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), using mindfulness and problem-solving techniques. Through this style of therapy, we can work on just what is currently bothering you and nothing more, or we can work more deeply to try to determine what may be the roots of what bothers you.
