My Approach to Helping

The Greek Myth of the impenetrable Phoenix is the inspiration behind the name for this practice. It is my personal belief that each and every person can be helped. Some believe that healing is sublime happiness. I believe that Healing is Recovery. Recovery may mean being able to do the small things, such as: enjoy family vacations, attending children's functions, reconnect with marriages or other significant relationships. Additionally completing the come times more difficult task of finding a reason and motivation to even begin and move through the day. Because happiness is relative, I don't advertise happiness, I advertise Recovery. We (client and clinician) collaborate to determine what problems you are experiencing, what you think they are, and what their origin may be. We explore skills used to this point in your life to cope and survive. As a team, it's our goal to mend the two into the perfect combination of problems and healthy, practical, and adaptable coping skills that are specific to each individual. All treatment plans and goals are person-centered and Holistic.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

There is a fine line between personal and professional ethics. Sometime the lines are so blurred that the pressure becomes more than one can bare. My moral compass generally takes me in the direction of the best interest of the patient. Above all else do no harm. When the smoke and dust clears my decisions can have both a negative and positive effect on the patients life. It is my goal to leave each person better than we found one another.
