My Approach to Helping
I can help you change old patterns and learn new skills to live the life you dream of! I believe in going beyond basic talk therapy! Let's dig into and resolve past trauma, let's gain insights into the things that cause you stress. First, we will explore how you got to be the person you are today and envision where you want to go. Then the fun part! Let's learn the skills and give you the tools to help you understand how to manage your own emotions, be in relationships with others, and think positively to live without anxiety, stress, and doubt!
More Info About My Practice
Adults- I am a directive therapist, which means that sessions will sometimes include activities, practice assignments, readings, etc. I draw heavily from CBT, mindfulness strategies, and the Attachment-model.
Kids & Teens- As a former school counselor and in-home family therapist, I have the unique ability to work with kids on issues like depression, anxiety, problems at school, or behavioral issues at home.
Autism- If you are struggling with social isolation, depression, or executive functioning issues, I can help! If you are a caregiver, I can help you to be the best support you can be to your loved one with counseling and behavioral coaching, while also helping you on your own journey as a caregiver.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
My very favorite part of being a therapist is when, after we've been working together for a while, we get to look back and reflect on how far you've come! I love when we get to say, "Remember what it was like when we first started? Remember when you thought it would never get better? Look at all this progress, all you've learned! Look at how awesome things are now!"
