My Approach to Helping
I specialize in individual outpatient therapy. I have experience working with teens and adults experiencing depression, grief, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem issues, codependency, and relationship issues. I have a particular interest in multicultural populations, refugees, immigrants, and have an understanding of Asian American cross-cultural identity.
I build off of each person's unique strengths, gifts, and relationships to help them overcome life's hurdles. I create safe environments for individuals to use their inner ability to heal. I enjoy integrating meditation to tap into individual intuition and inner peace. I use researched methods like Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, exposure therapies, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to strengthen individuals' ability to cope and achieve their goals. I am a Charlotte native, received my Bachelor in International Studies from UNC-Asheville and my Master of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill.
