My Approach to Helping

"It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never, ever, be dimmed.? Doe Zantamata

Life is really difficult at times. Or it is not as satisfying as you imagine your life could be-if only... You feel stuck and don't understand why. You feel shame about this and frustration. And change is really hard no matter how good it is for us.

The support of a skilled therapist with experience and expertise can make a real difference in helping you develop the skills and techniques to cope with the thorny issues that life dishes out. You can improve your coping skills, thus your confidence and change how you feel about yourself, and become freer to live the life you want. And these are skills that you can take with you, can become a part of you because life doesn't necessarily get easier but you can get better at managing the challenges.

I have been a therapist for 20 years and specialize in working with people facing life transitions brought on by relationship and family difficulties-current and historical, those experiencing depression and anxiety, grief and loss, coping with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses, and caregiver issues.

We will work in collaboration in a warm, supportive, honest way that will challenge you at times but can also be full of laughter and joy. Give a call or email, I look forward to working with you.

"Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown again into instant flame by an encounter with another human being.? Albert Schweitzer
