Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
I come from the perspective that early relationship experiences create templates for how we perceive others, ourselves, and the world. I believe it is important to explore these relational patterns. I also find that incorporating mindfulness and acceptance based coping strategies can be a wonderful way to experience symptom relief and foster life long coping strategies.
What Makes up a Problem?
It is easy to want to reduce our current stressor to one simple cause. However, life is not black and white; we live in a sea of gray. Such is the case with factors that bring us discomfort. Relationships, career, health, and finances can all interact and bring forth distress. Your life is not one thread, rather it is a beautifully woven pattern. Discovering comfort in the gray is one of the most liberating ways to experience symptom relief.
